Plessy vs Ferguson Case
My topic of choice for my final project is the Plessy vs Ferguson Case. Out of all the
lessons we did this was the one thing that really stuck with me. For my project I chose a visual
collage piece. In this piece there are two girls one is white and the other is black. In the lower
section I chose to add a mix of red, blues, green, yellow to signify how at the end of the day we
are all equal despite our race and differences. If you look at either side you can see a mix of
colors from both sides. When you look towards the upper part you’ll see that the colors don’t
mix. This is signifying how we are also still separate in certain ways. On both sides I added
things that the girls may like or have in common with each other. As said though we are separate
in ways there are things like religion, food, materialistic things, and school that can bring us
together in some ways. I added these two young girls, because for kids they look at things
differently then the way the world does. Instead of looking outwardly they’ll look more inwardly
in a way. They only then become separate or tend to look more outwardly due to the things they
see and their environment.
